Grading Information

The following points can be earned by the students in the beginner band:

5 daily points for effort and improvement
20 points for assigned tests (can be found on assignments page)
Weekly points for assigned practice (actual points my vary by teacher)
100 points for performances (parades, concerts, etc.)
- Points lost due to excused absences such as illnesses and family deaths can be made up without penalty. Please notify your teacher prior to the excused absence if possible.
- Please send a note explaining an excused absence to school. Thanks!!

The students will have four, possibly five main performances. On November 4th, we will have an informal "Parent's Concert" at Kennedy Middle School. This is a concert hosted by the three separate classroom teachers the students study with daily. They perform in a full band all school Winter Concert on December 13/14, 2010. They will work on a combined middle schools performance at our local music festival on March 12, 2011 at Hays High School. Our final concert will be at the 12th St Auditorium/FHSU Beach-Schmidt Performing Arts Auditorium on May 16/17, 2011. Details about each performance will be sent home via e-mail and paper prior to the performance date.
