The Kennedy Spelling Bee on January 21st, 2009. Thirteen Kennedy students competed in 26 rounds. Three finalists and one alternate were selected to represent Kennedy in the Ellis County Spelling Bee at FHSU.

The County Spelling Bee was held on January 27th, 2009 at the Memorial Union on the campus of Fort Hays State University. The winner of this year's competition was Alex Herman of Felten Middle School . We are very proud of the performance of all of our students and congratulate all of them.
