2008-2009 Peer Helpers

What are Peer Helpers?
• Student selected, teacher approved group of students who are trained in
  communication and listening skills, and the peer helping process.
What are Some of the Activities our Peer Helpers are Involved In ?

• Weekly meetings, including service work and training.
• Training in communication and listening, the helping skills, interpersonal
   relationships, hot topics in the mental health profession.
• Volunteer work at elementary schools, nursing homes, and throughout our
   community.
• Providing services throughout the school year at school functions and
   activites.
• Peer helpers help to resolve problems among the school.
